I just cannot get enough of great books for my little ones and then sharing them with all of you. Finding our little ones flipping through books is one of my absolutely favorite things. We have a large variety of books – old and new – with different lessons and story lines. One thing we want to be intentional about is sharing Jesus with our kids in a variety of ways. The kids love this too and seem to gravitate to faith based books, as well. We have lots of other books but today I’m sharing three of our favorite Christian books again.
We adore the Jesus Storybook Bible. We have the original book and I was excited to see what was different about the gift edition. This book came wrapped in cellophane. Once I unwrapped it, I discovered that the bible is a durable fabric like texture that is a hard cover. It’s lettering is in gold and it’s simply beautiful. It’s the exact same as the original but it’s bigger which I really enjoy.
All of the stories are exactly the same in the original, page numbers and illustrations included. As you can see in the second photo above where it’s compared with our original – the size is pretty different. I love this bigger size and the binding is much more durable. Our other binding actually broke which was so disappointing. This one I don’t see having the same problem.
If you are new to the Jesus Storybook Bible, its a beautiful bible full of age appropriate bible stories. All of the stories are consolidated a bit and approached in a way that children can understand them. It gives the core and heart of the stories in the bible planting the seed of them knowing the stories but also giving them the core knowledge of what is going on. It lays a beautiful foundation for children of all ages and prepares them for what they’ll learn in the Bible in later years. The illustrations are absolutely beautiful and do a great job illustrating each story.

My mom got this book for my kids for Christmas and it’s absolutely precious. It’s a short board book that is based off Chris Tomlin’s Good Good Father song. We read this book in our home several times a week because the kids adore it.
The illustrations are beautifully done, illustrating God as the lion and going through all that He is. The others characters illustrated are forest animals and are absolutely precious. It gives the kids a mental picture of all the God is to us. The book is easy to hold for little hands and is durable. The cover is a soft cover that is appealing to little hands but isn’t thin and fragile.
When I requested this book through my book blogger program I wasn’t sure what to expect. I originally thought it was a small devotional book full of little prayers but when it arrived I was pleasantly surprised that it was even more than I imagined. It’s a full bible with prayers and verses sprinkled in within the pages within the Precious Prayers Bible.
Our family usually gravitates towards NIV or ESV bibles but the traditionalism of NKJV is something I was looking forward to adding to our shelves. Not to mention the NKJV fits so well with the timelessness of Precious Moments brand. This bible and it’s illustrations are absolutely stunning. Precious Moments have always been just that – precious. The illustrations alongside the prayers is an absolutely perfect addition and brings so much to this bible.
The prayers are simple for our little ones but so powerful and important. I feel like the combination of the illustrations, the prayers and the coordinating verse on each page sprinkled through the bible really brings it home for our little ones. I think this bible is just precious and I can’t recommend it enough.
