Happy Monday, sweet friends. We got home one week ago from our five day trip to the mountains and it was so good for my soul. We packed up our stuff, our pups, and our sweet babes then headed three hours northwest to the Routt National Forest in to the mountains. The roads we winding, lined with trees and the Poudre River. I simply cannot drive through the mountains without being astonished by how blessed we are to live in this state.
Remember how I said that I might just post to Instagram? Before we were totally out of town I lost all service because God’s plan was better than mine. I had no service for the full five days and it’s what I needed. I needed it more than I probably realized but I knew exactly what I needed – all at the same time. When I don’t have an option to be on my phone, checking in on things, I don’t think twice about it. I’m there in the moment and the rest can wait. I am never uneasy about it. Yet when I have service but try to disconnect, it’s a habitual that I check in. Funny how God knows just what we need, right?
It was five full days of just my favorite three people, nature and God. All of my favorite things right in front of me. Camping was a bit more relaxing before kids so it was more of an adventure than it was a vacation but can I just say I wouldn’t have changed a thing? I don’t ever want to take this season of life for granted even though it’s filled with more struggles sometimes than smooth sailing.
We spent our five days exploring nature, building campfires, and soaking in this extremely beautiful landscape that God created. I can’t wait to get all of my photos where I need them and to share with you. There was so much goodness in our trip that I don’t want to forget so I’ll be spreading things out into a few posts. It’s mostly for me so I can’t wring out all the goodness I want to remember, but I’m also breaking it up a teeny bit for you too, so maybe you’ll even find a new favorite spot or two in the area we explored. More soon!
I am so glad you had a restful trip!
