We are suckers for delicious home cooked meals. We are constantly exploring new flavors and creating new recipes. With Ryan’s culinary history we have a very diverse list of meals that we create every week and enjoy the process. Some are quick and some are longer and drawn out but the truth is – we love food.
We go grocery shopping weekly as a family, usually on Friday nights, which is usually quite the to do but it’s a must because we love fresh, delicious foods that we make right in our home kitchen. Occasionally we go out to eat as a little treat but rarely do we love food out more than food in. We love having the control of our food and all that goes into it in our kitchen.
If you are like us, you know several people that are either unmotivated to go to the store for fresh ingredients and opt for a quick meal out. Usually it’s because they don’t have time to go to the store or because they are literally out of ideas of what to make. Sound familiar? Even with our long list of diverse meals we are always intrigued to find delicious recipes to try.
Enter Hello Fresh.
Hello Fresh creates a diverse variety of recipes and sends meals every week right to your door. The box comes with an insulated wrapping, ice packs and every ingredient you’ll need to complete to recipes inside. Their service takes the shopping for ingredients out of your schedule and the recipes are easy to accomplish by their straight forward recipe instructions. So if you are a new chef you won’t be intimidated by cooking and if you are experienced in the kitchen you can explore new tastes and flavors.
This week we created the Pork Teriyaki recipe and it was easy and tasty. Because of the recipes coming right in the box I was able to start dinner prep earlier in the day so I could spend less time in the kitchen around dinner time because my attention needed to be elsewhere later in the day. Everything is portioned out to the exact measurements which makes the recipes even easier than a basic recipe where measuring out is a necessary. If you are a multi-tasking mama you totally understand the value in that.
The recipes use every day items for the basic prep. For example – the garlic and ginger needed minced. If you have minimal in your kitchen you could simply use a knife but if you have extra tools on hand like our grater or OXO garlic press like we did, you could use those. They are easy to adapt to what you have on hand whether you have a variety of tools or just the basics which is great.
All of the meals usually take between 30-40 minutes from start to finish and all of the meals are listed right on their site complete with recipes. Hello Fresh has boxes based on what you need classic, vegetarian or the family box. The meal we had was enough for all of us plus lunch. There is no requirements for the subscription so you can skip a week any time that you want to if you see something you don’t think you would enjoy or you’ll be out of town – you can just skip the weeks you need to. It’s easy peasy. Even better? Unlike a restaurant you can control what’s going into your food and adjust your recipe accordingly based on your likes and flavor preferences.
