whew.
It’s been a while since we had one of these virtual coffee/life updates kind of blog posts, hasn’t it? These really are some of my favorite posts though because I get to pretend that we’re all just sitting here in a cozy little coffee shop with our favorite drink in hand in chatting about life like old friends.
I imagine you would probably say hello and asked me how things of been. I would tell you that I love Christmas so much and our house is decorated with a fresh tree that A picked out for us and it was the perfect one. We decorated the day after Thanksgiving and Christmas has been playing on the radio pretty much non-stop ever since. A has been singing Christmas songs with me and we’re getting ready to do our yearly baking party to share with our neighbors and local workers (postal, fire, trash). I love that tradition that we started last year. Gogiddy, our elf, has been all around the house already and having a golly ol’ time. A is so cute how she loves looking for her every morning. We keep it a simple hide and seek game and sometimes we do activities that Gogiddy “prompts”.
B is 5 1/2 months already and that it blows me away that he’ll be six months the day after Christmas. He’s starting to teethe and he’s all about his toes and big ole open mouth kisses and he just about mastered sitting. I still, 5 1/2 months later, cannot believe what an easy baby he is. A such a good baby and I really didn’t think they got much better but he’s always so happy and content and go with the flow. Just like his big sister, he absolutely will not take a bottle nor does he like binkies. Which also means we won’t be going to the corporate Christmas party tomorrow, which is kind of a bummer because we had a blast last year but being a parent has to come first and that’s okay. He’s lights up anytime I walk in the room and he has a smile on his face at least 75% of the time.
I’m still getting used to the idea that A is three. I have a three-year-old. I know I can’t believe it either. Sometimes though, well most times, she’s wise beyond her years. She’s a sassy one that is full of personality. We constantly watch her in awe of the little person she’s becoming in the witty little thing she has to say. She’s constantly busy wanting to sing songs, craft, learn something new or sing the ABCs. She’s got a heart of gold and loves with all she has. She’s becoming her own person and while she has her typical 3-year-old attitude moments we are regularly proud of the little honey she is. Being her mama is such a joy.
We just celebrated six years of marriage last weekend. We didn’t do anything special really we simply stated I made dinner at home and enjoyed the little family that we have created together. It’s amazing the things that happen in six years. Here we are today with two babies, a new puppy and a mortgage – all things that are OURS. Even on the days where we are driving each other a bit crazy, I wouldn’t change sharing this life with Ryan.
Overall, we are just really blessed. This life is crazy and it’s good. Business has been going well and so this little space of mine is growing into what I hoped it would be. I’m learning to let go of things that don’t fit well and that feels really good. I made the official announcement today that The Indie A-List, my handmade community I founded and have ran for the last 4 years, is closing January 1. It’s a bittersweet goodbye but it also feels like the right one. I’ll still be working with handmade businesses on here and through my freelance business but it won’t be as consuming & stressful. That feels really good. Aside from that, I have an appointment next week (I’ll update more soon) that will give us some answers we’ve been waiting on for some time now and getting those will feel good to finally have, no matter what they are. I still have Christmas shopping to do but I still have 14 days…right? Ha.
So, now it’s your turn. Tell me everything about whats going on with you! Are you ready for Christmas? How is your family and your little ones? I want to hear all about it!!
Such cute pictures! Mine is about to turn three and I still can’t believe it, either.
Amazing how time flies, isn’t it?! I didn’t realize our little ones are that close in age! How fun!
Can’t believe that it has been a year since we actually did sit and have coffee together (ok you coffee me milk!) Well lots of things to keep us busy these days especially with Christmas popping up in a couple of weeks! I haven’t done my shopping either! Anyway, I have shared my life updates over on my blog @ http://blissfullysunnysideup.blogspot.com/
You will have an amazing Christmas….I love seeing Christmas through the eyes of children. My daughters are 18, 15, and 12. We have a great holiday but there’s nothing like the magic of the holidays as seen through a toddler’s eyes!
Sorry I missed this until now!! Christmas was so wonderful with her being three! Even the 6 month old had a blast with wrapping paper! 🙂
