We spent last weekend (the weekend of the 14th) with a house full of family celebrating our favorite three year old on the planet. As her mom, it’s hard to believe it’s been three years already since she was born but it also feels like she’s been in our life forever. Funny how that works, isn’t it?
When planning her birthday this year, she was excited and opinionated about everything she wanted which made it even more funny. She picked out Minnie Mouse for her theme out of about 10 options I gave her and adamantly stated she wanted cupcakes. So, we took her to the party store, let her pick out her decorations and we had a Minnie Mouse party.
Every day on our day board we counted down until her birthday and she was so excited as it came closer. We had all of our parents in our home for the first time since A was born. My dad came into town with my niece and nephew, Ryan’s parents came down from the mountains and my mom was there. For the first time in A’s life she had all of her immediate grandparents in one place and I think she loved every single second of it.
We had snacks to much on, pizza for supper and, of course, I made Minnie Mouse cupcakes out of Oreos, which are also on her “favorite treats” list. We gave our Minnie and Mickey plushes to her cousins for joining us for the fun and she and my niece had matching Minnie Mouse cups that she picked out while at the party store the weekend before.
After having a few days of a full house, we had Sunday and Monday to ourselves to soak up our sweet little family and celebrating Miss A. Monday, Ryan took the day off and we surprised her with The Peanuts Movie because she has been dying to see it since she was the Peanuts characters on the Horizon crackers boxes. Ha. She loved the movie and it was super cute. Mondays are probably the best day ever to hit the theater since there was almost no one there. B slept through most of the movie but really loved the screen when the airplanes were flying around, so all around it was a great day.
Here we are, one week into having a three year old in the house. Time is a thief but gosh, it’s so incredibly good too.
