To Die For Brownies

I used to be a box brownies girl – and not even a huge brownies lover of any kind – at that. Too “cakey”, too dry, too…blech. One day I wanted brownies and I wasn’t about to drive to the local store for an overpriced box mix…and so it began. The hunt and crafting of the most chocolatey, yummy, gooey brownies. Oh my word – these are so delicious and I’m telling you right now they are the best ones out there, so if you’ve been on the hunt make sure you take down my recipe. You. Will. Not. Regret. It.

Ingredients
  1. 1 stick of melted butter (1/2 c)
  2. 2 eggs
  3. 1.5 c white sugar
  4. 1 tbsp vanilla
  5. 1/2 c + 1 heaping TBSP unsweetened cocoa powder
  6. 1 tsp salt
  7. 3/4 c flour
  8. 1/2 c chocolate chips
  9. 1/2 c chopped nuts
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350*
  2. Combine eggs, sugar, salt, vanilla and cooled melted butter. Mix well.
  3. Add cocoa powder - both the 1/2 c and the 1 heaping TBSP.
  4. Add in the flour.
  5. Your dough will be stiff - it's supposed to be that way, it's brownies not a cake.
  6. Add in chocolate chips and nuts.
  7. Take an 8x8 pan and grease (I swear by Pam Baking Spray)
  8. Dump your mixture into the pan smoothing out the mixture.
  9. Bake at 350* for 29-35 minutes. We like ours gooey, so we go for the 29 minutes, that about when your toothpick almost comes out clean.
