A Winter Park Weekend Getaway

A couple weekends ago we got to spend the weekend away in Winter Park. SOA had an event up there that Ryan volunteered for and we got to go along! Have I mentioned how much I love that company?! Anyways, we had a lovely time. He worked two half day shifts, one each day, so A and I were alone a bit and we brought the puppy. Can’t say we will do that again, as I felt like we needed to stay in with her vs go out and do more things while we were there. Nevertheless we had a good time overall. The hotel was a bit of a headache since the first night we were tossed into a construction wing and were woken up at 11pm by a guy hanging photos on the wall behind our heads. Luckily, we got upgraded and moved to a bigger room with a view but that was kind of a hassle. Overall, it was nice not getting woken again the next night. Our first night we brought in take out and took it easy. Oh! And met a fox friend. Ryan and I always make fox friends when we go to the mountains – I’m not complaining! Saturday A and I dropped Ryan off for his event and ran to the grocery store for a few small items them hit up a BBQ place for lunch! That evening we went to dinner with the SOA crew working the event. It was a nice time and the food was good. A did pretty fantastic considering we were there for 2 hours. Once we were back to the hotel we took her swimming Dow the first time. She was so excited her suit had “fishes!” on it that she was jumping all around the room. Pretty much the cutest thing ever. She did great for her first time in the pool. She was a little reluctant but broke the ice with some splashing!

DSC_0458Sunday Ryan worked the morning shift and we hung out at the hotel and for everything packed since we had to be out of there by the time he was done with his shift. We got done, packed and in the car. A napped in the car and we did a little driving around, stopped for lunch and then headed to Frasier Tubing Hill. I have been going there since I was a child and Ryan and I went a few years ago. Oh. My. Goodness. A had so much fun. The first two times down she was silent but said she had a good time and then she wanted to go again and again and again. Giggling and smiling all the way down. So much fun.
