10 years ago I hoped to be married and have a baby right now and that’s exactly what I have but I have no idea how blessed I would actually be. I had no idea who Ryan was yet, I just hoped one day I would find a guy that would love me and complete me. I hoped for a baby and that I’d be a mama. I had no idea what I’d be doing for living or where I would be living.
On the flip-side, I probably couldn’t tell you what I was doing to years ago. I was probably coaching gymnastics, going to school, spending time with friends; I was probably bantering with my parents and not getting along with the rules that were under their roofs.
10 years. That’s an entire decade. 10 years from now A will be 10 1/2 years old. Oh. my. Heart. Ryan and I will have been married for 13.5 years and together for 17.5 years. Whoa.
I’ll probably have more gray hairs than I do now and I’ll probably given up the fact that I don’t color my hair anymore, I’ll probably be back to my coloring it yet again to hide the grays. Hopefully A will have a sibling or siblings.
But will I remember today? What I did today. Thanks to my blog … yeah, I’ll probably have an idea about what was going on in life. Outside of my blog though….I can tell you that I’m going to have an idea of what I’m doing today and what I did yesterday and the next day and five years from now, in 10 years.
But how?
Do I have a photographic memory or something awesome like that?
No.
Let me introduce you to a little something I discovered called Journal 10.
Journal 10 is a 10 year journal that allows you to write every single day with just a couple lines. So, you won’t be intimidated by a full-length page that you think you have to figure out and write on, and on, about things that you don’t know what to fill The page with. I love to journal. I’ve had the same journal for the last few years but the truth is, especially since I have had A, my time to actually write is limited. I have the idea that I was going to write in my journal every day, and if not every single week.
Well, The moral of that story is that it happens every couple of months.
I end up frustrated and beating myself up over the fact that I missed out on writing the last X amount of time in our life so one day when I’m gone, A won’t be able to go back and read all her life history because her mama didn’t write it.
So, When I was introduced to Journal 10, I was ecstatic. This journal can be used as a journal, or planner, or really anything that you would like. If you are a farmer, you write about your crops and what the temperature was like, etc. Journal 10 has seriously thought of absolutely everything. On the days that you have a time to write about and you are going to fill up Way more than four lines….there are extra pages for that exact reason.
In the back, there’s the address book. If you are anything like me, you write addresses in pencil because you know that the people in your address book are probably going to move one day. Journal 10 thought of that already – so they actually provide you with two lines. One for a current address, one for a future address. However, if your friend moves a lot because their in the military or a gypsy you might need a few more lines, or like us who rent and have lived in 5 places in the last seven years but for the average person you’re pretty much set.
Medical and Automotive Records? Check! They have you covered there too. You can write down your appts, shots, oil changes, all my date and year.
You also have the ability to look ahead in upcoming years, whether it’s writing down birthdays, or anniversaries or upcoming weddings or trips. You can look with the calendar look into the next 10 years. By Month for the next 10 years, so if you need to remember what year anniversary will be in 2018 – you can write it down and know at a glance. Special dates? Got you covered. Have a generalized trip coming up in 2019? Got you covered. You can write it down at the year at a glance.
Journal 10 has seriously thought of absolutely everything. There are so many uses for this book and it makes remember your days pretty easy and fun. It literally takes only a few minutes. Sometimes it takes longer reflecting on my day trying to figure out what I want to write down that I’d like to remember in 10 years on the basic, day-to-day-life kind of days. You can record just about everything you want to in this journal – minus photos. Use it as a journal, a planner, a medical tracker recording the day to day necessity numbers of your medical condition, or record the weather if you are into that kind of thing. This could be used for just about everything.
I’m really loving mine. Sure, I still use my other journal for the days that I have a whole lot I want to write but this thing, I’m smitten and in 10 years, you better bet I’ll be getting another one to fill up!
