Then Again…My Sister Is a Cow.

Friday night I text Ryan that I had zero motivation to cook dinner, and turns out he was in a delightfully good mood, and that was good enough for him, so we went out.

We went to a restaurant by the name of….Red {insert crustacean name here}.
We sat and waited for our turn chatting about the blog, the A-List, work, general life, our house hunt, etc.
Finally our buzzer thing goes off, and we head to the front counter, the hostess greets us, leads us to our table….

Everything is normal….

….then we sit down.

The hostess then proceeds to look at my stomach (a seemingly normal thing) but then her look gets funky, almost horrified? and she says -“OH…you are Pregnant?”
…the conversation proceeds as follows…
Me: “Yes I am!”
 Awkward Hostess: “How far along are you?”
Me: “I’m heading into my 7th month…”
Awkward Hostess: “OH! You are TINY, much tinier than my sister was….but then again my sister is a cow….”{silence for 3/4 of a second} “but I can say that because I pretty much hate my sister, she lost her son on my birthday.”
{awkwardly silent due to not knowing what to say.}
Me: “Oh I’m so sorry to hear that…”
Awkward Hostess: “Oh, it wasn’t to death or anything, it was to Social Services. My sister is an idiot, she is too into drugs, and boys. I hate her. Well Congrats on your pregnancy. Enjoy your dinner.”
{walks away}

I turn to Ryan with my eyes about to pop out of my head, and his looked about the same as mine and I said “What in the hell just happened?!”
We were both so taken back by the situation that had just occurred and Ryan says
“Well that wasn’t any kind of appropriate, I kind of want to report her to the manager…”
We proceeded to let the situation go on with our dinner, still a little struck from what had just happened, and enjoyed our dinner.
But am I the only one enamored by what the gal said?
Yep, you can’t make this up people.
That really happened.

    Whoa. On the one hand, that was waaaay too much information to be spilling on the folks that you’re seating but at the same time, what an incredibly sad situation.

    Um wow. It sounds like she’s repressing some issues with her sister and may need counseling to deal with.

    Woah. I just sounded like a nurse. Woah.
