I was visiting my friend Thisisme over at her blog and I found this posted on her blog:
Blogging without obligation . . . . . . and hoping you do the same.
Or another perfect example is this:
I can’t drink coffee without creamer. SO, I buy a Refrigerator Container since it’s the most practical price wise – but to be honest most of the time a portion of it goes to waste. Why? Because I know I have to drink coffee every day in order for that creamer to be gone by the expiration date (or X amount of days it needs to be consumed after it’s opened.) However, if I buy the box with the little individual packets that seem to have an endless expiration date – they are gone in like a week.
So, why is this? I’m not sure, I can’t explain it other than I guess it’s because they I’m required to do this or that, by X date and there isn’t a choice in the matter. When you are forced to do something, it’s no longer something you enjoy it becomes more of a burden, a requirement rather than something you can enjoy.
So, Right Now – here on my blog – I’m Stopping. Not Blogging but stopping trying to plan my blog. There are no more “Set” posts or series, it’s going to be raw, real life, and if I post from one my series, then it’s because it fits. Because it’s want I want to do. Not out of obligation.
So, here’s to moving forward parameter free on this blog.
From the first post I wrote, I have never had a plan or schedule, except for the 30 Day Challenge I did. When I write, it’s off the top of my head. The only time I deviate is a special occasion, special date for something. Over the years, I’ve done enough thinking for a thousand people so I’m taking it easy now. So glad you are taking pressure off yourself.
You are very wise, Kristina. I actively follow about two dozen blogs a day and every one of those blog friends hits the wall from time to time and experiences blogger burnout. Your real friends, the ones who really care about you, are not going to lose interest in your life or your blog just because you don’t adhere to a set schedule. Spontaneity is liberating. Post something new whenever the mood strikes and there’s something that you want to share or express, not because you feel obligated. We all need to remember to keep it fun and focus most of our time and attention on our families and friends outside the blogging world. That includes our fur babies who need our love and love us back unconditionally!
Love your attitude here. I like blogs that are real and honest.
Hey I am a new follower on your page it would be so nice if you could follow me back thanks ๐
I tried the whole plan thing too on my first blog that never stayed constant and now I post when I have something to write about not because I need to post something. Life is better without parameters so is blogging ๐
