Won’t you have a coffee chat with me?!

Since I am drinking a hot cup of coffee with a bit of French Vanilla creamer and a few dashes of sugar, and that drinking coffee is most of the time a rarity for me I decided that I would join in on Virtual Coffee. I wish I could actually sit down with a cup of coffee at a coffee shop filled with the yummy aroma of coffee, welcoming walls and warm smiles of the workers in a quiet corner, and speak with so many of you.

If I really could sit and share a cup of coffee and conversation with you, I would show you this lovely new hair cut of mine that I received on Thursday by my lovely co-worker, and tell you it’s the best hair cut I have probably ever had and that I will keep the lovely Elena hunted down to cut my hair for the rest of my life and how my hair just feels lighter.

I would tell you that this last weekend was lovely – taking engagement photos of my little brother and his fiancee, running errands into the evening then trying a little homegrown, family operated BBQ place which was lovely. And that Sunday was absolutely beautiful outside, it was my favorite weather – the sky was sunny with a few, very few, scattered clouds, and a gentle warmth of being able to wear a light jacket or not. It was perfect! We got our “well, our cabinets are about empty so we. must. go. grocery. shopping.” grocery shopping done – so that was a relief! We came home, made some homemade yummy, yummy hummus (you have no.idea. how excited I am about this, nor how long I have wanted homemade hummus!), and some homemade spinach artichoke dip. So, Sunday I was spoiled by the hubby and the weather.

We had a lovely Valentine’s Day dinner! A bit of wine, some T Bone Steak and potatoes and that yummy spinach artichoke dip.

I would tell you that work just.plain.sucks. There isn’t a nicer way to put it. I wish there could be but there isn’t. Here it is in a nutshell – I’m required to work 48 hours in a work week but I don’t get paid unless I’m massaging. Last week I made a total of $60, no I’m not kidding– you do the math. The last couple of weeks have been this way, my days filled with being at work knowing I’m not getting paid. It begins to take a toll, a big one – then when your boss gets mad that you want to take a day off when you have no clients, that’s even more frustrating. With that being said, I’m looking to go out of my own again and be a business owner – not sure if many of you knew that, I owned a massage & wellness office in Colorado! – because its so much easier that way and there is a space perfect with lots of foot traffic…. so more news on that soon! I just have to get past my guilt of quitting my job silly I know, but that’s kind of how I am.

I would tell you Ryan is really wanting to move back to Colorado in 5 months when our lease is over. So, there is some bittersweet feelings towards that – there we have a ton more family, a bit less friends. Here we have a couple more friends and less family. Oh heavens, I’ll keep all of you informed on what our little life with be doing when we know more and decide.

I would also tell you we are taking a weekend get away!! YIPPPEEEE!!!! Colorado Baby! We are taking a quick Friday-Monday trip to go out for wedding #1 of the year, getting to see some family and have a nice, very short but nice get away!

And of course I would want to know all about what in the world is going on with you, so please! Fill me in! πŸ˜‰

Have a Happy Tuesday lovely Friends!

Well, I was really disappointed to not see a photo of that haircut you were so pleased about! Your weekend away sounds as if it will be fantastic. There can’t be anything worse than being stuck in work and not actually earning any money, because you have no treatment booked. That must be hard for you but, hey, good luck with your new work venture if you decide to go ahead with it! Well, I enjoyed that cup of coffee together!

If you are required to be there 48 hours, isn’t she required to pay you a base salary. Otherwise you should be able to come and go as you please. That’s how it was in CT.

We want hair pics. I had to show mine. Now it’s your turn. Moving stinks. Bring all your family and friends to you!!

    1. If you move back to Colorado we will just have to make an effort to do things together – like chat over coffee which is absolutely one of my very favorite things to do. I spent over 3 hours at a coffee shop with a friend on Saturday just catching up with each other. Also, I will get massages again if you come back ;).

    2. Sorry work sucks. It just isn’t right to expect you to stick around like that if you aren’t being paid. If you aren’t earning money you should not be required to be there. Is that legal?

    3. Glad you had such a great weekend and a happy Valentine’s day.

I’m a coffee lover myself, Kristina, and agree that good coffee and good conversation go hand in hand. If you start your own business again I wish you the best. You have the personality and temperament to make any business venture a success. Are Wyatt and Leo down with the idea of moving back to Colorado? (LOL) Please show us photos of your new haircut!

I will post a photo this evening! I knew I wouldn’t get away with not posting one, I just have yet to take a photo!

Littlesilkdress…:1) yes we will! And i would love to have you as a client again! 2) it’s stupid but it’s technically it’s legal because it’s commission. But I do agree it shouldn’t be A requirement without pay!

Barb….it totally sucks and I really wish that I didn’t feel guilty for wanting to quit. Soon my guilt will be put aside and I won’t give a care! All in good time.

Shady…I don’t think Leo will have a care in the world as long as he has a house to live in and his two feline ‘siblings’ by his side. Wyatt will be thrilled because his BFF Buster (whom is Rudys son) is out in Colorado. All shall be happy with whichever happens!

Thisisme….whether we end up in Colorado or Kansas I will be doing the entrepanuer – it’s in my blood! Hehe

Oh you are such a tease! I wanna see photos of this fabulous new cut! πŸ™‚

Did you make that delicious looking spinach dip? If so, can I trouble you for the recipe? My tummy is grumbling just looking at that photo. You think I’m kidding, but I’m not!

Wow, that’s really impressive that you owned a massage and wellness office in CO. What an exciting endeavor – what made you sell? And if you don’t mind me asking, HOW ON EARTH do you work 48 hours a week and not get paid unless you are massaging? πŸ™ Are you training others or doing a lot of paperwork? That is crazy – I can’t imagine how difficult it must be to be motivated to work when you have so little to show on your paycheck! I admire you for being able to stick with it; I don’t think I could be so dedicated!

    Enjoy your upcoming weekend getaway!
