The Power of Massage

Massage is so Powerful!! I have been in school now, over a month and I could not be more excited for the day I graduate! ๐Ÿ™‚ The day that I can say, I am a Massage Therapist. Its phenomenal how much massage can change a person’s life. I knew that I was doing a great thing in my life, I just didn’t know how great until I started school! I have so many stores that are just so touching that I have heard. I will admit I don’t have things super great to talk about, about every class—Ugh, Anatomy is a pain! :)—But overall, I am so happy I have chosen the career path that I have.

What made me choose massage?
The people that know me, know that I love to be a peacemaker. I love to listen, pick the problems apart and fix them. HOWEVER, I want to fix them SO MUCH that I constantly thinking about how to fix them. I obsess about fixing other people’s problem. I pondered psychology, counseling, etc. for my career for many years. Something told me though, that I would stress about my clients more than I would enjoy my job. Massage kept coming back to me, and I had no idea why. Now, I do. My purpose here is to help people, but just not exactly in the way that I had thought for so many years. I am supposed to help feel better physically. If emotionally I somehow help them through massage, great! But I am not in a profession where I can help people so much more than I could have ever imagined! I am so excited about it!

What’s my goal for being a massage therapist?
My ultimate goal for being a massage therapist is to have my own private practice. Running my own business has been something instilled in me for years. Something has always told me that I would, and I will. (I have never liked working for a boss, I pick apart how they do things and think about how I would do things differently.) My practice will start out with just massage, but eventually I would love to have a Salon and Spa! I would love that so much! I would probably call it, Tranquil Inspirations Salon and Spa. Just talking about it just makes me so excited! Eeek! Just thinking about it is making my heart dance!

My graduation will be May 24th. My goal, get as many clients as possible through clinical internship, during the 21 weeks I am there, to have a client base large enough to have a practice. Students have gotten the clients through CI before, and I will do the same. Then what? Start changing lives, one life at a time.
