Snapshots of Our Life

We went to the movie this morning where we stood behind 19 other moms getting tickets for this summer promo and I was convinced Inside would be chaos considering the 50+ people that came behind us. I even asked the kids three times if they were certain they wanted to go to the movie still because the ticket box was so slow we were going to miss the first parts of the movie. Truth is, I just wasn't sure it would be worth it BUT they have been talking about it for a week since I put it on the calendar so I wasn't going to be the one to say we couldn't stay. We got through the line and it ended up being far less bad than I expected and the kids were the best the whole time we were there. Now the bathrooms afterwards - those were chaos with lines down the halls. So we left and I said yes to Jamba Juice across the parking lot mostly because they had a bathroom and also because A has been asking to go. I told them yes to one medium smoothie that we would share because we had already paid for the movie this morning and really we had everything for smoothies at home. Even though the kids insisted they wanted their own, they were fine with our medium. AND THEN, then smoothie guy came to me with a large because he made too much and when I asked for two kids cups so I could split it into cups for them, he was more than happy to let me have them. So that's what we did. One medium-turned-large fruit smoothie split into two extra kids cups that ended up making the kids feel over the top happy about something that was a small thing. Sometimes our "yes" answers are even better than we expect and sometimes the universe helps us say an extra yes we didn't expect because it was going to be worth more than we thought.

We met Daniel Tiger today!!!!! The line was a bit craaaayyyyyy but we have two thrilled kiddos - especially a little boy who came out of his shell giving high fives AND a hug! We missed all of his smiles in the photo but SO worth the wait!!

Just got out of the summer movie with these goofballs. Grateful that I get to be their mama and that I get to spend my days with them.

Some early morning one-on-one time with my favorite girl. Coffee and Coloring, seems like a good start to the weekend to me.
