I’ve had a super hard time finding hair gel that I love the hold of and doesn’t come with toxic additives. So last year I started making my own….with FLAXSEEDS. It holds well, although the texture gets a little bit of getting used to. It’s also super important you add in the oils to help preserve the flaxseed gel and keep it from getting weird.
HOMEMADE FLAXSEED GEL
1/4 cup flaxseeds
3 cups water
• Boil on the stove for 25-30 minutes until thick and run through a strainer to get the seeds out of the mixture.
•ADD IN — 10 drops💧each of : Lavender, Cedarwood and Rosemary. (This is a must – these oils make it last long and keeps it from smelling sour. I personally only use Young Living.)
Store in airtight glass jar. Apply to wet hair. Apply water to try hair to reshape if needed.
