Colors of the World.

It’s back to school time again and although it looks different for many, it looks the same to us. We’re continuing our homeschool journey and to be honest, I’ve never been more grateful considering we aren’t forced into a new transition like many are. In addition to our schooling style being the same as usual, we’re also using our usual brightly colored supplies from Crayola.

Crayola is a staple brand in our home and the kids love nothing more than the fresh supplies for the school year. Fresh paper, markers, crayons and colored pencils all setting the stage for a full and creative year. This year I’m extra excited about one of the brand new boxes of crayons….

Colors of the World Crayons.

These crayons offer every shade and color needed to represent all the skin tones and colors of the world. This box of Crayons is a must-have for any household or school supply list. It allows everyone to feel represented no matter their skin tone and allows children to accurately represent all of the people of the world. We will be using them through mini unit studies, as well as, day-to-day art projects.

We’ll be pairing our Colors of the World crayons with the rest of Crayola favorites like our GIANT Construction Paper, White Construction Paper (wahooo for thick, bright white paper that isn’t card stock for projects 🙌🏻), and our sketchbook. Plus, our other staple Crayola must haves. We’ve already used our Giant Construction Paper for project posters.

Crayola’s True Selfie Campaign

Crayola is running a awesome social media campaign right now. They want to see how you’re using the Colors of the World crayons. They want to see people of every race, creed, and skin tone celebrate this brand new box of crayons with a self portrait! All you have to do is draw your own picture or do what we did…

While we’ll be working on our portrait drawing skills later this year, yesterday we used the Crayola Color Camera app to turn ourselves into coloring pages! Then we used our Colors of the World Crayons to color them in. Once we were done we uploaded our selfie to Instagram and tagged it with the campaign hashtag and made sure to tag Crayola. See our IG post here.

If you download the app and grab the crayons, @crayola would love to see your family portraits! Tag #trueselfie and @crayola in your post!

Who will be heading out the store or to your favorite online retailer to add these to your supply box?!
