I’m standing here in the middle of week thirty-three and I’m not sure how I got here. This pregnancy has been nothing short of a whirlwind and I’m feeling blown away we are so close to meeting our sweet boy. He’s an active babe and I’m convinced he’s regularly breakdancing in my belly. Yesterday A told me, “he needs to come out now! All he does is kick you so he needs to be out!”.Both kids are extremely excited for their new baby brother and it comes up at least once a day. Appointments are good and everything is on track for this pregnancy going how we need for delivery. We are eager, excited, and covering it in prayer. Ryan’s parents have their trip planned to come see the new baby (he’ll either be here already or they will be here the weekend he does arrive). It’s all a bit surreal that things are coming up so fast but it’s equally exciting. We’ve got our regular appointments coming up and one more sonogram before he arrives. He currently snuggles up as close to B as possible when I’m rocking him or nursing him, just like B did with A. I cannot wait to see the love these three have for each other. My granddad made his visit with us in August. We were so glad to have him here and the trip felt really short to all of us. We did some exploring of Pennsylvania that we hadn’t done before – the Lehigh Valley zoo, the America on Wheels Museum (I’ll post more on those later) – and of course, the kiddos had to take him to Crayola. We also had lots of picnics and play time. Goodness, the kids loved having him here and can’t wait to see him later this year at the holidays – they talk about it almost daily. On the same day my grandad arrived, so did this beautiful in all its beautiful, heartfelt glory. The quilt my grandma created for Ryan and I. The quilt she spent hours on by hand and made even bigger than planned to fit our King Size bed contrary to us insisting it was okay whatever size. She wanted us to pick the colors but I insisted whatever she picked would be perfect. She got “blues, turquoises and anything else you think would be beautiful” out of me but that was all b/c I knew she would make it better than I could imagine. She didn’t get it bound before she passed away in April and my granddad had it finished then mailed it to us. I knew it was coming but having it in my hands was a rush of emotions for me. I don’t know if I’ll ever find the words on how much I miss her every.single.day. Time heals but I’m not sure the pain ever fades when you have love someone like I did her. This quilt is more amazing than I imagined and so very special. It’s perfect in every way. It hasn’t left my bed since. It arrived the same day my granddad arrived from CO for a visit, a bittersweet trip because we have missed him so but she so badly wanted to make it here before she passed. This quilt coming the same day made me feel like she got to make this trip too.A couple days after my granddad left, we loaded up and hit the road on Thursday to find ourselves camping in the mountains for 5 days. We were nestled in the Sproul State Forest and enjoyed the quiet. As always, I like to do solo posts for those trips – so stay tuned! We have really enjoyed finding new places to camp and comparing the differences between here in PA and in CO. This last weekend we tackled a home project and checked out an Emergency Preparedness event. B you was thrilled to check out all of the fire trucks and the ambulance. He even got to “put out a fire”. It was an unexpected event but was worth the excitement B had for seeing everything! I think that just about catches up our life lately. I have so many more things to share with you in detail about our adventures and some great books & products! I can’t wait to get everything live on here but until then,I just wanted to give a bit of an update!
