There is just something about the wide open windows, the color of the leaves changing over slowly and cooler weather that is restorative, and life giving to me. Today especially.
Things have been a little more stressful around our home lately. The process of getting our house painted has been less than wonderful and it’s been dragging on since I mentioned it weeks ago. We ended up extra stressed due to that situation and we ended up firing the guy Monday. Oiy.
We’ve been a bit under the weather for the past week. I’m not sure if I should blame that on the cold wet weather we’ve been having or the germs that were probably picked up at the children’s museum. Either way, we’re in the midst of it. Today though, a shift happened. The weather was warm enough for the windows to be wide open letting the fresh air come through. I did it to let whatever ick we’ve been keeping inside out, but it’s been good for my soul too. We’re just taking life in strides and enjoying the little things like the tiny tomato we grew in our garden.
Not only are we feeling better and less under the weather, but there’s just this sense of peace. Like this chapter of struggle is just plain over or at least on its way out. The paint guy came and peacefully got his stuff without even disturbing us. The babes napped uninterrupted and woke-up happy & seemingly on the mend.
Little did I know opening up the windows would give me more than just some fresh air but some fresh hope and a fresh mindset as well.
