Last week we had a rough weekend – not this last weekend but the weekend before. We were hit with news kind of all over the place. A grandma in the hospital. A canceled trip. And just general news that left us feeling a bit defeated. Scratch that. Very defeated. We had two options: write this whole five-day vacation of Ryan’s as a total wash and wasted vacation time or look at it as lots of time together and take advantage of his last day of vacation. We chosen the latter. Although vacation time didn’t go as planned and we still got lots of time together as a family. So Tuesday we decided to disconnect and take advantage of this beautiful state we live in and focus on us. Not worry about stressors or disappointments. Not worry about anything but soaking up the mountains, and counting our biggest blessings. Each other.

Does she not have the sweetest little profile?! And that “A” is perfect for this girl 😉 Smitten!!

We needed the 6 mile round trip hike. We soaked up the time, talked to each other, explored the beauty that we are so blessed with in the state and we just lived in that moment. In those few hours, we didn’t stress about anything going on around us, we didn’t worry about the wants or the desires of our life that haven’t been fulfilled without a real understanding of why. No, instead we counted the blessing we do have. The things we are so incredibly blessed with and when it really comes down to it – our blessing out trump what we don’t have.
