I remember the day that we met 8 years ago this summer, it was a quick hello as I was a stranger in your house spending time with your brother and his friend. I saw you for a brief moment when you emerged briefly from your room with collages plastered to your door. We met again in the summer of 2006 as I sat your parent’s dining room table “officially” meeting you and your parent’s for the first time when I visited Ryan during that summer. I knew by then that your brother was the man I was going to marry, but little did I know how much I would grow to love you as my own sister.
I had hoped that you would like me, at least a little, but little did I know how close you and I would become. Dinner dates, hair trades, and girl talks, sisterly misunderstandings, random venting sessions, and uncontrollable laughing sessions – they became part of your routine, I learned about your secrets and I was there in the moments that you needed to expell news to someone and you knew it was safe with me. Big milestones, first loves of yours, heartbreaks and betrayals. I was there to listen to them all, it meant so much that you came to me. I remember the conversations of the boys you dated in high school and just after, and now today, you are marrying The Boy.
The One that you are going to be spending the rest of your life with, the one who you will be having a baby with in October, the one that swept you off your feet unlike any other previous. The one that completes you, that makes you giggle and laugh, the one that you can’t see your life with. I have the honor of standing up as your bridesmaid, as your sister, while your brother marries you and the love of your life. And I just want to say how proud of you that I am, of the woman you have become, the sister you have been and how unbelievably happy I am for you.
Today, a brand new journey begins for you – one as you officially start your life with Cory, as husband and wife – and I couldn’t be happier for you. Wishing you all the best and all the happiness that this life, and this marriage can bring you!
I love you Seester!
