Sometimes in life we get little reminders of things that are blatantly obvious and that will know with all of our means and then something reminds us again; Stops us dead in our tracks and makes our heart dance a little more and remind us of the important things or people.
The other day I walked into our kitchen and right above, and slightly to the right we have a white dry-erase board. In the top right corner this hung there, tucked right behind so it would stand up and all the world could see.
It wasn’t surprisingly up there, it had been for a little bit with a couple of his other birthday cards, but in that moment “for my husband” stood out to me. Now, mind you, I did indeed pick out the card myself and I read those words when I picked out the card but those words spoke to my heart, nearly melting it for no reason in particular. It simply reminded me of the love inside my heart for that one person I’m lucky enough to spend all of my days with, that person that knows me completely, and loves me anyways. That title that I playfully used for what seemed to be forever, isnt play any longer it’s the real thing.
On the opposite wall of our bed hangs these two items:
constantly a reminder of our marriage, love and commitment. So being a wife, in a marriage with a husband isn’t news to me – but sometimes there are little reminders that catch me off guard that serve as an appreciated, beautiful reminder.
Just like when I was addressed as Mrs. S this last summer, something I really hadn’t been addressed by since my wedding day.
Amazing how hearing, reading, seeing the most simplest of words make us take a step back, breathe life in and make us not take for granted what the life has given us.
