I came across this note on facebook today, and I was moved. Sincerely moved. Its so true.
“So i was listening and reading along to my audio bible this morning and came across a passage in romans that hit me in a “seriously paul.” sort of way. in other words i was thinking to myself, wow does our society of christians need to hear this one.
i dont know if anyone else has noticed but christians these days dont look much different than the world. we are hypocrites and we live as close to the line while still proclaiming Christ’s name as we can… BUT this is not why we were created and this is not the life a follower of Christ is called too. so anyway romans 13: 11-14…
*the previous passage was about loving your neighbor and continuing on,
“And do this, knowing the time, that NOW is high time to AWAKE out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness and let us put on the armor of light. Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkeness, not in lewdness and lust, not in strife and envy. But PUT ON the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh to fulfill its lusts.”
so people who claim the name of Christ, we have got to wake up. The night is far spent. We have wasted way to much time in darkness, seriously. If all the rest of this goes through one ear and out the other hear this. Jesus Christ will return at ANYTIME. lets put off the things of this world, lets embrace the truth of the Word, and RUN into the light, exposing those things in our lives that don’t match up with Christ, and drawing closer to Him all the more. We have been taught way too many times that its ok to be mediocre and live on the line. This is NOT true. The Bible uses such terminology as he will VOMIT you out of his mouth in reference to being lukewarm. Lets take that to heart, lets wake up, lets put on Christ, and lets come together as the body of Christ and further HIS Kingdom.
wow, sorry not sure where that came from… it just happened.
Now that you have read it, what are you going to do differently?
