Here is a little post with a recap of our lovely get away to San Diego. It was a nice break from every day life, but its always nice to be home in your own warm bed, in your own home.
The first day in San Diego, CA we drove around the city, and surrounding areas, just enjoying the views, checked into our hotel, went to an outdoor mall near our hotel, and then went to the Gaslamp Quarter, where we ate dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe. The Gaslamp Quarter was downtown where there are a couple blocks of restaurants, shops, and clubs. We enjoyed spending the evening down there, it was a great enviroment, and the weather was nice.
Day two we went to the San Diego Zoo! There were so many wonderful exhibits like neither one of us had seen before. There were so many animals that we up close unlike many other zoos. Our favorite exhibits were the Koalas, Meerkats, Polar Bears and the Panda Bears.
The afternoon we went to La Jolla to the beach and enjoyed the cold Pacific waters…well walking in it.
DAY 3-Day 3 We spent most of the day at the Wild Animal Park, and it was a blast. There was so much to see in this park, so many open animals roaming! We had so much! Lions were just laying on land rovers, Giraffes grassing on trees, cheetahs tanning, flamingos bathing with their babies, too cool! We hung out that night, at Gaslamp Quarter.
On day 4, we took the day to go to different places that we had been before, that we wanted to. Drove around and enjoyed the sites, and that evening we found a place called Seaport Village and enjoyed walking around there, and hanging out on the dock watching the sunset. We ate at a highly recommended restaurant, the Fish Market, the food was pretty good but the service was not very good!
Day 5 was our last day. This day we spent our time at Seaport Village, and took the Seal into the Harbor. The Seal is a land and water vehicle that we took into the bay. In the bay we got to see what is a once in a lifetime thing to us, common folk. We saw the Navy bring in a submarine into their base. It was amazing! If you look in the photo, the orange and white boat is the tug boat pulling the submarine into the base. Amazing!!! We also got to see the Navy out in the water training a dolphin. Too Cool! We also saw at least 30 California Sea lions sun bathing on a dock. After our boat tour, we continued walking around Seaport Village, and then drove by the Bay we just went on the Seal into, and we saw another once in a lifetime event. We got to see aircraft carrier 74, deployed from its place in the bay to go on a mission. How cool is that?!
All in all, I really enjoyed our trip and we had a lot of fun! Ryan was a little frustrated because he didn’t know how to get everywhere but really that was the fun of it! 🙂 We had a great time being somewhere new, we had no where to be at a certain time, we just had a lot of time to hang out together, and see somewhere we never had before.
Maybe someday we will see the world!! 🙂
